LEAGUE OF LEGENDS WORLDS:
ONE & ONLY CHAMPION

The 2022 League of Legends World Championship Finals took place on November 5, 2022, at the Chase Center in San Francisco, drawing over 5.1 million peak concurrent viewers and setting a new esports viewership record. This year’s finals delivered a story almost too perfect to script: Faker, the world’s most iconic player, returned to the Finals after five years, leading a new roster of rookies. Across from him stood Deft, a beloved veteran long considered the greatest to never win it all, competing in what many believed would be his final tournament. In a remarkable twist, Faker and Deft had once been classmates at the same South Korean high school—now facing off at the pinnacle of their sport.

We set out to tell a story that captured both the emotional weight and the grandeur of the moment—something heartfelt, impressionistic, and true to the players' journeys. Shot in collaboration with the Red Bull skydiving team, we aimed to make the Finals feel larger than life, combining cinematic spectacle with the raw intensity of the competition. It was a once-in-a-generation showdown that deserved a film equally unforgettable.
