LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
MSI: SHOWTIME (OPENING)

The League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational is one of the biggest esports events of the year. Where Worlds is grand and prestigious, MSI feels raw, electric—the badass younger brother. It’s rougher around the edges, faster, and fueled by pure competitive fire.

For MSI in Busan, Korea, we drew inspiration from foreign cinema and the stylized, emotional storytelling of Wong Kar-Wai. We wanted to create something that felt truly epic and cinematic. Coming off an unprecedented 18-0 undefeated Spring Split, the story centered around T1—the untouchable kings, standing atop their high tower, defending their home turf.

Given the deep cultural connection between Korea and League of Legends, we aimed to make the story as much about the people of the city as it was about the pros themselves. After a year of being confined to studio shoots during Worlds, we wanted to hit the streets with an explosion of energy. We embraced street film photography, using a stereoscopic camera setup, and crafted a visual love letter to Busan’s vibrant passion for League—breaking convention and showing esports in a way the world hadn't seen before.
